Kevin Kazyak started his Law Enforcement career in 1994 with the Waterford Township Police Department as a patrol officer. He has been involved in many different areas of police work within the Waterford Police Department, and retired in 2022 with the rank of Deputy Chief. He teaches Active Shooter Response at the Oakland Basic Police Academy as a Firearms Instructor. He also teaches Accident Investigation and Traffic Management at Oakland Community College. Kevin is married and has three college-aged children. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, although he says he doesn’t play enough to be good! |

After retiring from a career as a scientist and business owner, Jim Mangi became deeply involved in dementia awareness and education. He is a volunteer community educator and conference speaker with the Alzheimer’s Association, and he chairs Dementia Friendly Saline, a nonprofit that focuses on educating the community so that people living with dementia can live with less difficulty and more acceptance. Additionally, Jim is a caregiver for his wife, who is living with Younger Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. |

Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative (HWPI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps to facilitate the development and use of non-motorized recreational pathways in Washtenaw County and surrounding areas. To date, our primary focus has been the Washtenaw County-wide Border to Border Trail (B2B Trail). The B2B Trail is a 35-mile, 10 foot wide, ADA accessible, paved pathway. It consists of 8 trail corridors that connect you to cities, parks, and destinations throughout Washtenaw County, Michigan. Everyone is welcome! |

Service Dogs helping others

Blue Star Service Dogs goal is to provide our military veterans diagnosed with PTSD and TBI another method of healing through service dogs and training. Through our programs, we seek to help heal visible and invisible wounds, provide families with new beginnings, and raise awareness about the potential of shelter and rescue dogs everywhere. |
