WCBH is a feature length documentary film that follows the life of Taylor “Machine Gun” Duerr, a world class boxer from Detroit, who is also a struggling heroin addict. The film chronicles Taylor’s journey as he trains for the fight of his life – a shot at the WBC Cruzer Weight title – while battling the demons of addiction. WCBH offers an unflinching glimpse at these two worlds – addiction and boxing – as they collide in one individual. The film is an exploration of strength, endurance and-- most importantly – an exploration of how love and redemption can be found in the darkest moments of our toughest fights. Executive produced by Peter Berg, and directed by Michigan’s own Mike Ramsdell, WCBH is currently being distributed by Rainmaker Content out of London. The screening will include a visit with Mike Ramsdell (the director) and Taylor Duerr (the film's subject) on a panel that will include local mental health and addiction specialists.
